The monthly Consumer Spending Report fielded by Chain Store Guide shows a bit of the disparity between consumer spending on restaurants versus spending on many other retail categories. As the chart shows, restaurant spending didn’t fall as much as general retail spending and was essentially flat in May versus April, when the big decline occurred….
